Night by Elie Wiesel

The truth is that this book did not surprised me or liked me so much as the others because is the typical story of Jews that were kept in a concentration camp separated of his family, as Ann Frank.  The thing that I like it the most is the title because is just one word and could give you the description of what the book is going to talk about.  This is not an original theme but is nice to know that Elie Wiesle, the author, could scape from the camp with life.

The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe

I totally liked the message of this story because is the truth "if you try to scape from nature, nature will find you". All the time I have think that detiny exists and this story is about it because Prospero tries to go away of death but it was marked on his destiny to died so that is what happens at the end of the story.  All the environment of the story is of terror and mystery because it has dark colors and in far places.  Also I liked the fact that Mr. Narchi told us that it seems that the Red Death was using a mask but the truth is that it was not using a mask. I liked it beacuse it ends not as you expected because you expected that Prospero lived and it had a happy ending but it was not like that.

Allegories

Allegory is a group of symbols that together creates a message. I think that an allegory makes so much easier a complete idea to understand.  The allegory includes all the characteristics and meanings in one image for all the society to understand it.  The most common example of an allegory is the heart but not the one that is inside our body is the one that expresses feelings and emotions, that symbol every person in the world knows it and know what it means if someone draw it for you or gives you a chocolate box in that form.

Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut

I definitely liked this story because it made me retract about thinking of a total equal world because it would not make every people special.  Sometimes I wanted that every single person could have the same opportunities and characteristics because I felt that some persons have everything I have wished for and I do not, but now I think that only for being me I am special and I have everything.  I think that it would be the worst thing that you have to be handicap because of being the most intelligent, the most beautiful or every achievement that the persons have. No one most feel inferior because of not having what others have, enjoy what is yours.

Witness for the Prosecution by Agatha Christie

Honestly I did not like this short story because it made me confuse about who it was the murderer and what was happening in the story but is good because is about mystery and unexpected and I liked the fact of the different structure in the plot line because it is weird but I really do not have any comments for it.

There Will come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury

Science Fiction is one of my favorite genres because when you read it a story that is written now it would said many things about future an robots but when the civilization would live in that year it could probably exist those things that in a book of the past appear.

There Will come Soft Rains made me think about wow! I want that my house cleans alone for me to do not have to pick up my messy room but then I thought but I would be a dependent of technology and I do not want to depend of anybody and could do everything by myself without help.  The dog of the story and the house made me feel sad because they were lonely and loneliness is the worst feeling in the world. The title it says one thing to me that the someone is suffering but it wants to be happy so it thinks that soon life is going to be easier. 

I really like it and enjoy it I hope we could read more great stories like this one.

Salvador Late or Early by Sandra Cisneros

This description of a little kid that suffers and lives the same everyday made me feel so sad because I never say thanks because I do not really suffer and for me suffering it was that the boy I liked does not loved me the same but that is anything compared with Salvador's life.  He had to be so mature for taking care of his little brothers and he could not had a normal childhood.
This short story made me almost cry because it is so strong and so rude but that is the real life that many kids do not chose to have it but they have to live it and see the good thing of everything.

The Sun by Mary Oliver

I really enjoyed reading this poem because it made me reflect about why I never take time to see the greatness of the nature and I spent more time on watching the technology.  It makes me think that there is no thing more amazing because none of us can make a Sun so bigger and so magnificent as it is.  It give us  the joy and happiness of seeing another morning, the warm that we need to live and it give us the light that we need to see so without Sun we could not be here right now in this moment because we could not live without it.

What is Art?

That is a question that I have asked me many times but I think now I know, for me art is the object that cause you an impression and affect your senses and emotions.  Art could not be the same to everybody because for many people a painting of a spot is art but for me it is not because that does not cause me any experience or emotion but it is acceptable any point of view because everybody is different.
In conclusion art it could be anything that makes you feel an impression.

The California's Tale by Mark Twain

This short-story tell us the story about a man named Henry, that was a gold miner and went to california because of the gold rush for finding a lot of gold and having many wealth.  He moved to California with his beautiful wife that decorated an old cottage and make it a nice and sweet home.  Henry and his wife were so in love that for her didn't matter the gold.  Henry's wife was a very young woman of 19 years that obviously needed her family so she went to visit them but in the way she found an Indians tribe and they killed her.  After this Henry finds out that the real happiness is the love so he entered in shock that make him loose his mind and believed that his wife went on a travel and she would be back soon.
Henry's friends, Tom and Joe, find out that their friend needed a lot of love and compassion so they give them to him for a lot o years decorating his cabin for a party. Until they made him realized that the truth was that his wife was dead and affront the idea.
What I learned about this story is that the only thing that makes us happy is the love of your family, friends, the one you chose for being your lover and also could be the love that a pet gives you. Without all this people loving you life would not be the same as great we see it.

What is Literature?

At the begging of junior high I thought literature was only a suffering school class in which you have to read boring stories for getting a good grade but when I started reading some pieces of literature I was interested in I started loving it.

Literature has to be a creative writing that people can enjoy it when they are reading it.

The original meaning of Literature is:

"Literature is the art of language"

As the meaning says is the art in which the human can communicate his ideas and emotions of his own universe.

I love the variety that literature has for all types of persons. (novels are the ones I personally love)

The Interlopers by Saki

This short-story personally left me surprised at the end because I never expected that happened such a bad luck expirience to George and Ulrich after they forgot all the hateness they had each other.
It all begins with the feud between two guys named George Znaeym and Ulrich vonGradwitz that had been enemies since they born because of a problem that their grandparents had because of a piece of forest land.  As they were enemies they wanted to kill each other so one day George found Ulrich but never shoot him, they got trapped under a tree and had the opportunity to talk and solve their problems and also could George told Ulrich instead of enemy Neighbor.
At the end they saw some shadows and they thought were persons but they found out that were wolves.  I think they dead after that.

I liked the story because of the surprising ending because it does not ends on a typically happy ending.
